The Bible and Age of the Earth

This is a big problem for Christians, today. Not because of what appears to be a conflict between science and religion, with respect to the age of the Earth; rather it is the many shades of interpretations offered by Christians, themselves! One group says the Earth is as old as 4.5 billion years (old Earth believers) while another group says the Earth is roughly 6 thousand years-give or take a little (young Earth believers). Also, there are different interpretations of Genesis that is usually on the part of the old Earth believers. For example, there is the Gap Theory. This belief basically says there is a millions-of-years gap between Genesis, chapters 1 verses 1 and 2. The waters that the spirit of God is hovering over is due to a flood before Noah’s flood due to Lucifer’s rebellion. Another view tells of each day described in the Genesis account as being long periods of time. There is a term (new to me) called progressive creation. This belief lies somewhere between secular evolution and theological evolution.
People like Ken Ham believe the world was created in 6 solar days about 6 thousand years ago. He gets his world view upon reading the Bible. Luke gives the genealogy of Jesus Christ to Adam and the generations when added together is not more than several thousands of years. James Ussher, Archbishop of the Church of England (Armagh) studying the Old Testament in light of other historical accounts chronicled the Earth’s creation around 4004 BC. He, too, must have read Luke. The problem is not that Richard Dawkins or Bill Nyeopposed Young Earth beliefs but when men like William Lane Craig who is anamazing Christian apologist, do.  This is because men like Ken Ham are merely being consistent with the Bible-so at least we know where and how to deal with it. He is not dodging any bullets, he is “true” to his worldview, whether we can sympathize or not.
As far back as the 4th century Augustine of Hippo (St Augustine) says not to take the Genesis account too literally. He says God created everything instantly, as opposed to 6 solar days. He warns us not to misinterpret scripture which can disagree with science, thus making believers look foolish. This can make good sense, especially when I consider another group of people –Christians and non-Christians who believe the Earth to be flat. There is a Flat Earth Society started by Samuel Shenton in 1956! Their model of the world consists of a disc covered by a celestial dome.
So, here it is. The young Earth creationists look sort of like Samuel Shenton’s troop in the eyes of the old Earth creationists. But I think we miss the point: in the eyes of secular evolutionists we who subscribe to an invisible intelligence who gave us the Bible appear foolish since we cannot even agree what the Bible is saying. We need to ask why we believe whether the Earth is 4.5 billion years old or six thousand years old. And we need to decide if this is relevant to Gospel.  Then, we need to hold our ground, no matter what. Wishy-washy beliefs is what I think is the give-away, not secularism vs Christianity. The latter issue will not go away, simply because we are not as a race ever going to subscribe to a purely material universe with us as mere matter, without a soul.

Are We Real?

Cosmological Constant-Not Luck. Scientists see and know our universe must have been designed. But they will not accept belief in God, I.D. So scientists are suppressing their knowledge due to their hatred toward God, especially Jesus Christ.

Scientists now 'believe' there are infinite amounts of universes aka multiverses so that the anthropic principle which they DO admit exists in light of the Cosmological Constant.

This means scientists' direction toward the Multiverse Theory was originally caused by a knowledge of God's fine-tuning.

As they proceed to do their math in order to learn more about the nature of these other universes, scientists were brought back to the notion of a creator.

There is no access to these other universes. No proof.  However, they DID find 2 'proofs' of an intelligent designer. But instead, they prefer to lie, and trying to cover up the truth, it- the lie- multiplies . Like when you cut the head of a hydra, it grows more heads than before.

The brain specialists going with the evolution approach are convinced the human brain cannot advance any further. Our intelligence has reached its potential. Funny, they did  not discuss hyperbaric chambers. They do not discuss savants. We will advance our capabilities through technology.

"Our universe may be a hologram created by a super advanced race in another universe, making us created beings", like the Bible plainly says (I mean the 'created beings' part). Here again these guys are led to God, however they need to splinter off and from the most logical and most immediate answer: ONE GOD/ ONE UNIVERSE to what they prefer: NO GOD/ MULTIVERSE/ GODS/ US.

At least 3 times science points to God and 3 times scientists are denying God. They search for an alternative to the Bible's God to find an "Intelligence" so like the God of the Bible. They refuse to admit it.

The Majority, Minority

Unfortunately what really takes place under our noses is covered up or distorted by our media. Even in higher education the demeanor against inductive reasoning when addressing origin of life is synonymous to an intellectual  monopoly. If you DO submit materials even hinting at I.D. (intelligent Design) you are labeled as unfit to represent the very profession you worked hard for and earned, and I mean materials with sound reasoning and plausible arguments/evidence.

So, when I read posts like this it sounds like  a challenge which can never be met since one side is holding the cards and owns the casino. (link)

The specialists are supposed to be taken for their word and to be peer reviewed, etc.  Then the scientific community can tweak and what- not till they get a theory fine tuned. Well, it is majority ruled by intellectual bullies (I cant believe I said that). The majority may be wrong on some finer issues and numbers are daunting the results; if we think this does not happen, we are fooling ourselves, or we are being fooled.

I have just recently discovered that the people calling the shots in certain fields like cosmology 'discovered' the Multiverse Theory because some of them distinctively found good evidence for a designed cosmos thru what is called the Cosmological Constant.  Mathematics showed the way to God, so to speak, and guess what? Well, since certain people did not want the religious smell of old candles in the lab, they needed to opt for an alternative, and vwallah: Muti-universes (infinite number of universes, some successful, some not so successful) now exist with ours to simply pop up to solve any supernatural issues.  This is not purely innocent by a long stretch of the word. The people listed below are not welcome in your college level science discussion groups (if you sympathize with their views). But none of them graduated from strictly religious institutions with a religious agenda, rather it was the opposite: from naturalism to supernaturalism which means from no intent to intent behind the scenes of the fabric of space/time and life itself-us included.

Dr Dean Kenyon is a great example. He coauthored the book called Chemical Predestination used by I don't know how many universities. He was set in his career until he was shown a book by Dr Wilder Smith. Why did he not learn of that man in college, well, guess. He switched camps-and it must have been a painful process- as he was fired from his tenure position after going public with his more I.D./ creationist direction from his abiogenesis notions which he himself interpreted for the rest of the scientific community: talk about qualified specialist. (I would like to see Eugene Scott top this)

Although my writing is a little terse I wish not to be, as this topic is more significant than what it is made out to be.

Here are 6 individuals that are specialists in their respectable fields who have seen and demonstrated very credible cases for the very thing evolution believing atheists cannot stomach: the fingerprints of God. If you have heard of them 9 out of 10 times it was with derision. I myself took 2 classes at the university level in physical anthropology long before I came to the realization that I was not being shown stuff which I think people who are politically opposed to both I.D. and Creation theories holds back from us.

Giants in the Bible

This is a 2 part series by Pastor Mike Hoggard on more than just giants mentioned in the Bible. He ties it all together with a third of the angels cast out of heaven to be replaced by the children of Israel... He also explains a little about the preference for the KJ bible over NIV. Be patient and listen to his whole message and read from the passages yourself.

Space and Genesis 1

Is the cutting edge nature of space as physicists are beginning to picture it today mentioned in the Bible? The Big Bang was discovered in the 40’s while Einstein had already laid out his Theory of Relativity. No one including Einstein believed the Universe had a beginning, until Edwin Hubble demonstrated how the Universe is indeed expanding.
Believed now to have occurred billions of years ago it isn’t necessary for creationists to argue that this age is bogus. Why, because of the very nature of space: it fluctuates along with the nature of time to accommodate a consistent speed of light. However, to assume that this speed has always been the same from the beginning is too speculative. Sure it's behaving as such within our time frame but at the very beginning things must have been different. If space and time are in flux to accommodate light what determines the objectivity of our perceived age of things in the universe as a whole? Furthermore, what if light behaved differently before?
If I could see things outside of time and space as the Big Bang occurs, say from God’s perspective, then ‘when’ the world was created seems irrelevant as there is no reference point apart from God’s. The confusion begins with our perception of things as we are like the fish in our fish bowl measuring the entire space outside of our world from within its warped glass boundaries.

Now, from God’s perspective we can see how from the beginning of life on Earth until now a mere fraction of time elapsed: Anno Mundi to the Flood is approximately 2000 years and our Post-Flood world another 4000, at which in the halfway point we have the arrival of Christ. But what is really interesting is all this stuff I can derive from 20th century physics thanks to Albert Einstein. However, in the 21st century realm of physics the nature of space is taking a different turn toward the hologram. Today there is growing anticipation among top scientists that the very fabric of everything is a projection on a 2-d plane, as it were producing a holographic world aka the Universe. Well, apart from the question Who is running the projector if we read in Genesis we see this very thing written from knowledge so long ago.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Here we can envision the obvious: the heaven and the earth mentioned are simply our local planet and our sky. However, as we ponder what’s being said we can begin to see that time, space, and matter are being included, here. We have the world being without form and God who is about to separate stuff, as well.  ‘Waters’ seems to be referring to primordial matter or is it? I think the face of the deep and the face of the waters are linked.  Can it be referring to time/space/matter? I know this is a stretch, but as you see this video about the nature of time and see what Genesis 1 says and how physicists today are saying we are projections on to a surface the question of the projector’s  origin as well as the information being projected comes to mind and for me points right back to Genesis 1.

Intelligent Design Will Not Be Squelched

Dr. Arno Penzias, who discovered the background radiation pointing to the Big Bang, is not to be lumped with the so called uneducated by today's  educated elite:  http://www.evolutionnews.org/2007/06/would_dr_arno_penzias_nobel_la003733.html

Here is more on Arno Penzias' denial of tenure: http://www.discovery.org/a/4064.
